If you’re a train rider with a confirmed ticket departing in less than 2 hours, Union Station will actually allow you to sit down. If you want to pay for a meal at an expensive restaurant, Union Station will actually allow you to sit down. If you can go next door to the Metropolitan Water District during the few hours a day that their outdoor chairs aren’t locked in an inaccessible circle, you can sit down.
If you’re a subway rider or a bus rider, if you’re waiting for a friend to come pick you up, if you want to eat at Subway, Trimana, or another shop, you can stand. Or better yet, just get the hell out. You’re not welcome at Union Station.
