LA Metro’s Regional Connector is halfway done: 3 years down, 3 years to go. So they threw a party at the Japanese American National Museum in Little Tokyo. Among the performers were TaikoProject who first performed, and then, as pictured here, gave drum lessons.
The Regional Connector is scheduled to open in December 2021. When it does, the current Gold Line will be split in 2 parts. The southern Gold Line will connect to the Expo Line. You’ll be able to go from East LA to Santa Monica with no transfers. The northern Gold Line will connect to the Blue Line. You’ll be able to go from Long Beach up to Pasadena and beyond with no transfers.
The 3 lines: Gold, Blue & Expo, will become 2 lines. One name will have to be retired. Apparently Metro is debating this now. One option is to rename all the lines! 😛 (hate that option)
