On the first day of Spring 2020 semester at Santa Monica College (SMC), Tuesday 18 Feb ’20, I stood outside the SMC Bookstore between 12:25 & 1:01 pm and asked 10 people exiting the bookstore what their major was and how much money they had just spent on books:
