White board showing how many classmates' names different students can remember
Whoever meets the most classmates wins! At least 1 couple met in Art 110 and later married! I’m not necessarily encouraging dating, but you can also meet peers to do projects with. You can meet people who might hire you one day. Or you might hire them. Plus, how much would it suck if someone from Art 110 later became Governor of the State of California and you had sat next to them for a whole semester without ever saying “hi!”? You never know!

    1. Thanks, Miriam!
      It’s working fine now! 🙂
Your Plaster project is awesome! 😀
Your B1 Artist Essay is really short. Take a look at the Template, use those 4 paragraph headings, and try to go deeper into the artist’s work for future Artist Conversations.
      TY!

    1. Nice, Audrey!
Given your drawing style you might like to also give Adobe Illustrator a try.

Your time in Photoshop will definitely pay off for you in many ways over many years.

I think that at the beginning of your career, technical skills are really valuable. When you leave school you’ve got similar skills to a lot of other people entering the career market. Your impressive work with Final Cut, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc, etc can help differentiate you.

Later in your career, hopefully people will choose to work with you because of your creativity. But at a more entry-level, people often need your skills and ability more than your creativity. (disappointing, I know – but true! 😛

    Brayden Rios: E-Portfolio
Hi Glenn! I am really attached to my WordPress page so I decided to make it double as both my blog and my e-portfolio, I hope that’s alright with you. I updated it adding video, writing, and art pages that display some of my work. I also added an about page describing my philosophy and my areas of experience, as well as a contact page.

  3. Thanks Angel, Lillie, and everyone else above this comment… your shiny, new, website has been added to our list!

    Go You!

PS: Apologies to those who submitted more than once… the spam filters are extra aggressive when you include links… it’s not personal! It’s just, you know, such a spammy world. So the Filter Bots freak out. I’ve now “unspammed” everyone’s comments! 😀
