Dear Glenn,

It seems like there’s quite a lot of us that like to consider home as a laboratory or as an engaging platform – home as a conversation box I’d say. I really like Philosophy in the Bedroom, and I really wish I could participate with you, however I will be in India from August 21st till September 25th so I really doubt I will be able to come online then.
In terms of home, and where it actually is, I’ve moved out of the houseboat AND moved out of the IKEA habitaculum. We were asked to dismount it by the Head of School and it was donated to George. The story is on Hippie Picasso if you’d like to know more. Sorry if I’m rushing things more than usual for this post, but I’m really hungry at the moment and looking forward to go back “home” to cook.
I’m currently living in my friend’s ‘BED-room’ project, which consists of a 4sqm room with solely a bed inside, nothing else. It’s so cool!
Living inside a proper house has also made me notice how much I missed having a decent kitchen, shower, and toilet, but especially kitchen! I am cooking three meals a day and feel so healthy! I am so happy to be able to set up a routine around my life and finally settle a bit. My body feels so much better, and so does my mind. These changes have made me question whether if I reaaally want to live in such inconvenient homes, where I just end up eating out a lot and feeling quite dirty and rough most days of the week.

I will be staying in the BED-room for ten days before I depart to Copenhagen. I am going to Denmark to meet Ba-Bá’s new resident artist, Jakob Steen, who will be staying in Malaga for four months. He’s living in an intentional community in the centre of the city and has invited me to stay there with him so I’m very excited and intrigues! I love how Ba-Bá functions so much by chance, and I wonder why precisely these people are meant to enter my life. Jakob and I already did a Skype interview and we’ve e-mailed each other a lot, and I have a really good “vibe” about him so I think we will get on really well.

I’m sad to hear you got sick on the sunniest days of summer… It’s always like that, isn’t it? When we anticipate for things to happen, nothing comes out the way we want it to be! Oh well! You can’t really complain weather-wise, it’s pouring it down here in England…

I made a few videos while I was staying in Paris and Barcelona however I decided not to post them. They felt too superficial and they weren’t really portraying my experience at all. I was putting on a character of myself that wasn’t genuine, and it felt so frustrating having to pause my travels because I had to pass the videos onto my laptop, then convert them, then upload them onto YouTube – I wasn’t experiencing anything (!), and what’s the point of that, right? I’ve realised how much I like stories, especially the stories of the people who appear in my life, so I would like to start doing short interviews of them, but not of myself. I think I’ll figure that out organically as time goes by. I would like to integrate some documentary making into my practice while being at the RCA. I would like to transform my studio space into an environment, like a room inside a house, and perhaps run events and interviews there, using decorative tapestries and colourful paintings as backdrop. Or perhaps that’s something I could do at home, if I have one at all…

TEDx is coming to Kingston! Can you believe?! I’ve just submitted my proposal to be a speaker on November 5th as it’s always been my dream to give a TED talk… Confirmed speakers so far are Robin Hutchinson, Hannah Catherine Jones, and Graham Buckingham. Have a look!

Carmelle, one of the residents from AZ West, is in London with her boyfriend at the moment, so we’ve been spending time together. I love these happenings – I never thought I’d see Carmelle ever again!

I was wondering how your online classes worked out and how you were feeling about being 100% online? You’re no longer a physical lecturer, but a virtual one… Some students might never even meet you in person, it’s weird!

By the way, I realised the other day that I actually never received the post you sent me!!! I never received the box with our automatic drawing cut outs, or any of that! Where is it?
