Welcome 2 Summer Art @The Beach!

Welcome!

I’m looking forward to meeting all of you online – and perhaps meeting a few of you F2F at one of our 3 optional Activity meetups this summer!

No BeachBoard

We won’t be using BeachBoard this summer. We’ll be using Slack & Medium instead. I think (after the 1st week anyway) that you will like these platforms. Details on this and everything else are in our syllabus:

The syllabus has links for Slack, Medium, and all the info you should need to get started. Why not head over there and then give me a shout (email or Slack or a comment right on this web page) if you have any questions.

Optional Meetup Thursday

Oh! And for our Week 1 Plaster Casting Activity, there’s an optional meetup on Thursday 31 May anytime between 10am – Noon at the Seal Beach Pier. Some of you may already be in other places, but if you’re around and available, it’d be great to meet you and for you to meet a few classmates. And I’ll bring some iced tea! 🙂

Who Are We?

Here’s who’s enrolled:

  • Freshmen: 5
  • Sophomores: 5
  • Juniors: 3
  • Seniors: 15

I hope everyone will have fun this summer. And especially for our graduating seniors, I hope our Design Thinking applied to Life, and Portfolio Website activities will be helpful as you leave The Beach and look to begin your careers.

Majors:

  • 2 each from: English, Criminal Justice, Health, Bio/Chem, Electrical Engineering & Fashion Merchandising
  • 1 each from: Construction Management, Econ, Comm, Child Dev, Theatre Arts, Graphic Design, Music, Nursing, Sociology, Public Relations, Psychology, Marketing, Interior Design, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering

If we add the EE, ME & CE, then there’s 4 engineers! 🙂

I’m looking forward to meeting all of you and also to a great summer!

Shout if you have any questions or need anything,

~ Glenn

Ha! Not a very summery pix of me! 😛 This was in Chinatown around sunset. It was pretty windy in that spot – brrr! The weather here in SoCal should be heating up pretty soon! 😀
