Just as we found a lot of raw energy in Street Art and Graffiti Writing, so when photography leaves the studio and walks the street amazing things happen. Here’s a few street photographers you can draw inspiration from:

  • Garry Winogrand
  • Scott Schuman, aka The Sartorialist
  • Daniel Arnold
  • Philip-Lorca diCorcia

Here’s a talk with Garry Winogrand:

Scott Schuman is at the intersection of Street Photography and Fashion Photography. Here’s a day with him:

Street Art Activity

For your Street Art Activity, take your phone or other camera out to the street and see what you can find! I’d encourage you to take pictures of people. If that’s too intimidating, you can try what you like, but don’t give up too easy. For photographing people, you might, like Scott Schuman, ask for their permission first, or like Garry Winogrand, you might just walk the street and snap.

For your blog post, post 4 street photography images and talk about what you tried to achieve.
